Join Us for the 2026 Advisory Board Field Trip: Celebrating the Laskey Building
We hope you can join us on Thursday, October 8, 2026, for the 2026 MWRA Advisory Board Field Trip, jointly hosted by the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) and the MWRA Advisory Board.
This year’s event will center on the formal dedication of the newly named Laskey Building, formerly known as the Spot Pond Pump Station.
The facility has been named in honor of Frederick A. Laskey, recognizing his impressive 25 years of service as Executive Director of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority and his longstanding leadership and contributions to the MWRA and the communities it serves.
The event will provide an opportunity for Advisory Board members, MWRA partners, and guests to come together to celebrate this important dedication while learning more about the facility and its role within the MWRA system. Informational displays will highlight the Laskey Building and related MWRA infrastructure, and attendees will have the opportunity to participate in an optional brief tour inside the facility.
Welcome refreshments and a reception meal will be provided as part of the day’s event.

Event Details
The 2026 MWRA Advisory Board Field Trip and Laskey Building dedication will take place on Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Laskey Building at MWRA’s Spot Pond Storage Facility in Stoneham.
The event will include the formal building dedication, informational displays highlighting the facility and related MWRA infrastructure, and an optional brief tour inside the Laskey Building. Welcome refreshments and a reception meal will also be provided.
Detailed parking and arrival information, a site map, and the final event program will be provided to registered attendees before the event.

Parking & Arrival
Parking is limited. Attendees are strongly encouraged to carpool. Detailed parking and arrival information will be provided to registered attendees before the event.
What to Expect
Most of the event will take place outdoors under a tent, rain or shine. The dedication and optional facility tour will involve brief movement between areas of the site.
