Episode 4 of ABTV – “From Inventory to Implementation, Lead and Copper Rule Community Forum” [* please note: there is 4min of static between timestamp 0:05:30 and timestamp 0:09:25]
In this episode, we take a deep dive into an incredibly timely topic, the evolving landscape of lead and copper regulations and what it means for our communities. It is the audio portion of a Zoom workshop hosted by the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) and the MWRA Advisory Board recorded live on October 24th, 2024.
The forum was designed to help water professionals navigate the latest updates in lead and copper regulations, from initial inventory requirements to practical strategies for full lead service line replacement. Subject matter experts shared insights on compliance best practices, funding opportunities for lead service line replacements, and communication strategies.
With the new regulations under the Lead and Copper Rule Improvements (LCRI) just finalized and key upcoming deadlines under the Lead and Copper Rule revisions (LCRR), there’s never been a more important time for our communities to act swiftly to protect public health, share lessons learned, avoid added costs, and work towards removing lead from our drinking water systems to ensure no one is left behind.
